Experience Overview
This safari combines wildlife viewing in Tarangire National Park with an immersive cultural experience at Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities.
Depart Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive.
The park is known for large elephant herds, baobab landscapes, and rich wildlife including lions, giraffes, zebras, and buffalo.
In the late afternoon, exit the park and continue to Karatu for overnight: Karatu
After breakfast, drive to Lake Eyasi.
Meet the Hadzabe and begin an introduction to their lifestyle, including fire-making, tools, and camp structure.
Spend the afternoon interacting with the community and observing daily life before overnight in a simple bush camp within the Hadzabe area.
Early morning join Hadzabe hunters in the bush for tracking, hunting with bows, and honey collection when available. Later, participate in gathering activities such as digging tubers and collecting wild plants.
Spend the afternoon continuing cultural interaction before overnight at the bush camp.
Visit the Datoga community and Gidangodiga village.
The Datoga are pastoralists known for cattle keeping and traditional blacksmithing, where they transform scrap metal into tools, knives, and arrowheads used in daily life and hunting.
After the visit, drive back to Arusha, arriving in the afternoon.
